Just call me...

...the entertainer!

We've been having some small niggles with adapting to our larger family and to ease tensions, I've been re-inventing our living room every couple of days - bright coloured blankets on the floor, different toys rotated most evenings, moving furniture to create new play spaces, propping open books on most surfaces and making lots of nice new things that will hopefully be enjoyed for many years to come;

bright bunting...
shape game (can you jump on the ... when the music stops)...
curl up and read corner...

Across the pond KAL...

My motivation for completing a knitting project at the mo is pretty low - every time I try to get going something else comes up and more importantly I am mummy first before anything and everything else (especially housework, although some may argue a spotless home is vital - I'll settle for a clean organised chaos).

Having said all that, I recently discovered the 'in common' section on ravelry and came across a lovely person who has 5 patterns queued in common with me and 2 that have been completed too. So, I made contact and suggested a pattern that we can complete together although so many miles apart.

I cast on, on Monday and haven't looked back - for obvious reasons a quick, small and easy to tidy project was called for. Robins Egg Blue hat was perfect and I'm about 2/3 completed during nap times - I think I've got my knitting mojo back!

Happy hooking...

I have lots of balls of Patons Smoothie in lots of lovely colours and am experimenting with different (and new to me) techniques. To get past giant granny squares and actually join some together always seemed a bit fussy to me and like there would be too many ends to weave in, but I'm glad that I have and will post another pic when all the yarn has been used (I'm currently researching edgings well in advance, hours of fun online)!

Happy Mothers Day...

To all mothers, have a happy day - enjoy the breakfast in bed, the hour of you time freely donated by grateful partners, the handmade cards or scribbles in cards from little hands!

And we mustn't forget the beautiful bouquets that reflect how beautiful you are too...

Bunny hunt...

Today was the first day that the Cotswold Farm Park was open and with lovely weather predicted, we couldn't resist the chance to see some of this seasons new babies and to play on the fantastic games and activities at the farm.

To be able to watch lambing, hold the small animals, ride on mini tractors and even have the opportunity to bottle feed an orphaned lamb was sooooo exciting for the biggest little man.

As you can see we had to check every box and each corner for the bunnies that could just be hiding there!

Pretty Posy...

Since seeing a tutorial on another blog (sorry can't remember which one at the mo) I've been making them galore, I think they're so pretty, simple and effective...
