Wishful Thinking...

I have a very small (can't even describe it as compact) and atrociously badly designed kitchen - not enough storage, sockets, lighting and it has a 1970's hatch through to the dining room. I don't have anything against hatches providing they're bigger than A3 size and in a sensible place.

I dream of having space to swing a saucepan in and a door through to the dining room so I don't have to walk around the lounge down the hallway and into the kitchen each time I forget a spoon/dessert/sauce.

I've been designing what I would like on all the sites that allow it and Ikea seems to come up trumps for the space I have time and again, but I can't afford to get too excited until I've saved up considerably more. In the meantime I've been picking up nick nacks that I feel describe and inspire what I want from my kitchen so here are just a few of them my mini muses...

A peg bucket which I'm going to use as a utensil pot as I'm going to have a bar to hook things on all round my work surfaces (need to get things up off the worktop as I get flour and icing sugar everywhere ALL the time)...
Bread Bin, I love these greens and it was my original purchase that has led to my colour scheme of greens/navy blues/creams and muted dark pinks...
Butter Cottage, once seen couldn't be left in the shop! I've seen somewhere but can't remember now a cream porcelain egg tray - think this will be on my list too...
Cookie Cutters in a green tin (sorry pic doesn't show it off well) I hope to put a welsh dresser unit in the kitchen and my tins and kilner jars will proudly sit on there within easy reach but looking beautiful and homey all the while...

Bear with me if you will as this refurb is months away and will be hard going too - although my mind is set on it and I'm not easily shifted when I get like this.
